How does check-in work at your Hermann vacation rentals?

We offer private, self-service lodging with keyless entry. When you book directly with us, you’ll receive your door code and arrival instructions by email before your stay. We do not provide breakfast or daily housekeeping.

What is your cancellation policy for stays in Hermann?

Reservations cancelled 21 days or more before arrival receive a full refund minus a $10 processing fee. Cancellations made within 21 days of arrival are non-refundable. If your stay is shortened for any reason, you are responsible for the full reservation amount. Failure to arrive or early departure results in forfeiture of the full reservation amount. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.

What’s the minimum stay at your Hermann properties?

Most weekends require a 2-night minimum. Single-night stays are available on weekdays and select weekends (typically November–March and July–August), subject to availability.

Do you allow children at your Hermann vacation rentals?

Yes, children are welcome at all of our properties. Please note that some of our historic homes have more sound carryover than modern buildings. If you have questions about which property would work best for your family, feel free to contact us.

Are you pet friendly in Hermann?

Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome with prior approval. A $25 pet fee applies per stay. Please review our pet policy before booking.

Do you serve breakfast at your Hermann rentals?

No, we do not serve breakfast. Each home includes coffee, tea, and basic pantry items. We encourage guests to enjoy the local restaurants and coffee shops in Hermann.

Where do I park at your Hermann and McKittrick properties?

We provide parking at all locations. Our homes in Hermann offer private driveway parking. The Mercantile on the Katy Trail has drive-up parking spaces. Secure bike storage is also available.

How do I get to your properties from the Amtrak Station?

We offer two convenient options:

The Hermann Trolley picks up from the Amtrak Station and drops off at our properties in Hermann (and also picks up from The Mercantile on the Katy Trail).

Debbie’s Lyft U Up, a local rideshare service, is another easy option for transportation to and from the station.

Are your Hermann vacation rentals close to the wineries?

It depends on the property. 5th Street Bungalow is in downtown Hermann, while Alemania Haus is about 0.8 miles from downtown. The Mercantile on the Katy Trail is in McKittrick. Most wineries are a short drive away. The Hermann Trolley and local rideshare services make it easy to visit multiple wineries.

Which property should I choose — Alemania Haus, 5th Street Bungalow, or The Mercantile on the Katy Trail?

It depends on the kind of stay you’re looking for:

Alemania Haus is a quiet, comfortable home on Market Street, a short distance from downtown.

5th Street Bungalow is located right in lively downtown Hermann, steps from restaurants, bars, and live music.

The Mercantile on the Katy Trail in McKittrick offers a peaceful, historic setting directly on the trail — ideal for cyclists and guests who want a quiet stay with easy access to Hermann.

What amenities do you offer for Katy Trail riders?

The Mercantile on the Katy Trail is located directly at the McKittrick Trailhead (MM 100.8). We provide secure bike storage, a bike wash station, basic repair tools, in-suite laundry, and full kitchens — perfect for multi-day rides.

When is the best time to visit Hermann, Missouri?

It depends on the experience you want. Weekends are the busiest with more visitors, live music, and occasional festivals. Mid-week (especially Wednesday–Thursday) is quieter and more relaxed. Mondays and Tuesdays are the calmest, though some restaurants may be closed. Wineries are generally open daily year-round.

Do you offer wedding blocks or group bookings in Hermann?

We do not offer traditional room blocks. However, full property buyouts may be available for weddings, reunions, and group events. You can check availability, pricing, and book directly on our website.
